Hate Suspiria

40 years ago today, Suspiria was released in Italy.

A remake of Dario Argento’s stylish Suspiria has long been an inevitability, but the good news here is that the modern day upgrade seems to be in very good hands. A genuine passion project for Italian director Luca Guadagnino, the upcoming remake boasts a strong cast led by Chloe Grace-Moretz, Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, and Mia Goth, so let’s keep those hopes up… for now.

As reported by Deadline today, the Suspiria remake, which recently wrapped filming, is headed to next week’s European Film Market with FilmNation aboard for international sales. Amazon Studios nabbed the film last year for worldwide distribution, and also financed the production. The script was penned by David Kajganich, who adapted the original script.

In Suspiria:

A young American ballet dancer travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it is something far more sinister and supernatural. She becomes increasingly terrified after a series of gruesome murders ensue and she slowly unravels the dark history of the academy.

Expect more soon.
